PHILADELPHIA B.F.KEITH'S JAN.22, 7 JORDAN GIRLS. 9 min. Two girls in a very pretty wire act, assisted by a third girl who acts as helper. Open with a song number and the girls do some very good dancing on the wire. Went very well. KERR & WESTON. 10 min. Man and woman in a series of dances. Their work contains plenty of variety and each number is splendidly executed. A very good dancing act that went very big. WILLIAM GAXTON "Kisses." 24 min. A novelty playlet in which some good comedy is worked up and well handled by the principals. It is oddly constructed, held splendid attention and finished to a very good hand. GEORGE LYONS. 16 min. This boy was formerly of Lyons & Yosco, and is doing a single harp number. He is unquestionably one of the best harpists we have heard and in addition has a pleasing voice. The combination gives him a high-class musical act that will fit in nicely on any bill. It was very well received here. MELVILLE ELLIS & IRENE BORDONI. 25 min. These musical comedy stars have an excellent program of music and song numbers. Miss Bordoni also attracted a great deal of attention with her wonderful gowns. At the finish of a big round of applause in answer to repeated encores, Mr. Ellis made a curtain speech that was one of the best features of the act. Although handicapped by working the first show without their scenery, which failed to arrive, they were given a very pretty house set and registered an emphatic hit. WATSON SISTERS. 20 min. These girls scored one of the biggest applause hits of the bill. They sang several numbers and were forced to respond to extra encores. The comedy talk and dancing used with their songs brought laughs and applause and they finished very strong. ADELAIDE & HUGHES. 28 min. The return engagement of these wonderful dancers was just as great a triumph as their first visit here. The entire series closing with the allegorical ballet registered the biggest kind of an applause hit and at the finish they took several bows. JULIUS TANNEN. 18 min. He has about the best line of chatter we have heard from a monologist in a long time. He kept the audience in continuous laughter up until he finished with a sentimental recitation. He was a big applause hit. RATH BROS. 5 min. Two men in an unusually good hand-to-hand balancing act. Have a routine of new tricks well handled and were a hit in the closing position of the bill. "PATRIA." Mrs. Vernon Castle in the second episode of this picture, called, "Treasure." This picks up the interesting story of last week right where it left off and is full of thrills. Judging by the way 90 percent of our audience stayed until 5.15 to see the episode, the public is becoming very much interested in it. There is no question but that it is developing a strong drawing power. GENERAL REMARKS. It may be possible to book a better playing show than the one that drew a capacity house here this afternoon, but up to date it has never yet been done.
