Boston, Mass. B. F. Keith's March 5th R. G. Larsen HERBERT'S DOGS 10 minutes f.s. Landscape. A troupe of trained dogs, cats, pigeons and roosters, including leaping hounds. Pretty animal act. Good opener. DERKIN GIRLS 16 minutes in one. Olio drop. Songs with grand piano in one. Have an excellent repertoire, and put their numbers over. Went well at both performances. PAUL McCARTY and ELSIE FAYE in "SUICIDE GARDEN" 24 minutes f.s. C.D.F. An excellent singing and dancing turn, with considerable light comedy. The girl has personality, and they scored a hit. COOPER and RICARDO 17 minutes in one. Street. A Hebrew comedienne and straight man, in a singing and talking act. Going very well. "PEACOCK ALLEY" 32 minutes f.s. Special set. Novelty comedy sketch, with large cast and a striking stage setting. Held the interest every minute, got many laughs, and closed well. HANS WILSON and THE McNALLYS 10 minutes, open in one, draw off to f.s., very short close in one. Special drop, palace set, and olio drop. (This act DOES NOT do enough in one to make a set. We had a wait at both performances Monday, after their turn.) A little story, giving an excuse for the tumbling and dancing. Have some difficult tricks. Going well. RUTH ST. DENIS assisted by TED SHAWN and the DENISHAWN DANCERS 28 minutes f.s. Three special scenes. Miss St. Denis is presenting a totally different act from the one she gave us last season. Introduces six girls and a Cingalese. The lighting and dresses are thoroughly artistic, but the scenery is incomplete, requiring house wood wings and borders to piece out the sets. This marrs what is otherwise a very fine production. As a whole, the act is a distinct improvement over her previous offerings. Has more speed, and the "tillers of the soil" and "Greek lady" numbers are really beautiful. Going very well. ROCKWELL and WOOD 17 minutes in one. C.P. Drpaery. The applause hit of the show. It took them some little time to "get" the audience, but once they did start them laughing, the act was a riot. Closed big. "PATRIA" #8 Episode. 18 minutes in one. "Red Night," holding the interest. CUTS Rockwell and Wood, and "Peacock Alley" were obliged to take out all cuts made in New York houses, before opening. McCarty & Faye - "Who the L?"
