Boston B.F.Keith's April 23rd 7 R. G. Larsen HEARST-PATHE NEWS PICTORIAL 12 minutes in one. Good series of timely news pictures, and some patriotic cartoons. VALMONT & [REYNEN?] in "THE [ANGELOS?]" 14 minutes f.s. Special cyclorama. These people possess good voices. Second time of the act in this house. Have brightened things up with new solos. Went over in good shape. YOUNG & WALDRON 10 minutes in one. Olio drop. A good man-and-woman dancing act, with a couple of songs. Going well. SEVEN [illegible] 8 minutes f.s. Garden set. This troupe of acrobats were a positive hit. Have some great stunts; work fast; and woke things up for fair. BILLY GOULD 15 minutes in one. Olio drop. Mr. Gould has some new stories ---- and some not quite so new. Also sings a couple of songs, with a bit of dancing. Going fairly well. "THE CORNER STORE" 17 minutes f.s. Special set. A rough "hokum" comedy act, with six people and a trained dog, after the style of "Hiram on the Farm." While not so good as that act, it got the laughs Monday night, and pleased. RAE ELEANOR BALL 15 minutes in one. Special drop. Miss Ball duplicated her hit of previous engagements. FAY, 2 COLEYS & FAY 15 minutes in one. Special drop. It is such a long time since we played this act that they went over like new. Doing about the same material as before. Went over first-rate. "AMERICAN FIRST" with BRUCE WEYMAN & CO of 20. 28 minutes f.s. Three special sets. This act makes quite a flash. Opens with motion pictures, and pictures of the army and navy are also shown between the scenes, to give time to make sets. The musical end of the act is very strong, but the only song that gets anything is the number sung by Bruce Weyman, while swinging out over the audience, seated on the muzzle of a huge gun. A good patriotic feature, but by no means strong enough to hold up the show we have this week. LAST EPISODE of "PATRIA" 22 minutes in one. This is the wind-up of the serial. It is a bit disappointing. CUTS BILLY GOULD - word "damn" in song and song about President Wilson.
