B. F. Keith's Boston April 30th 7 HEARST-PATHE NEWS PICTORIAL 13 minutes in one. Good series of news pictures. TWO CARLETONS 7 minutes f.s. C.D.F. Two men in a "phlegmatic" athletic act. Tumbling and hand-balancing done in a matter-of-fact and deliberate manner that makes some difficult tricks appear commonplace. Good opener. LEW REED & WRIGHT GIRLS 13 minutes in one. Olio drop. Two girls and a man in songs and violin numbers. Their program is composed of "chestnuts" that have been sung to death in this house. Went all right in this spot. JACK LAVIER 15 minutes f.s. Garden set. This "Flying Monologuist" does a very good act. Has some hard stunts on the trapeze and a line of comedy talk, a la Edwin George, that gets over. A hit at both shows Monday. COLE, RUSSELL & DAVIS in "Waiters Wanted" 14 minutes in one. Special drop. Comedy act, with two men and one woman. Full of "pep" and going very well. "THE DANCING GIRL OF DELHI" with VANDA HOFF & CO of 10. 22 minutes f.s. Two special sets. Dancing act staged by Brother St. Denis. The scenic effects and costumes are beautiful. In fact, the setting is superior to that provided by Miss St. Denis for her own act this season. Held the interest and closed to a good hand. BERNARD & JANIS 16 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. Pianist and violinist in a rattling good musical act. Close with a dancing number that takes them off to a strong hand. DIGBY BELL & CO in "Mind Your Own Business" 17 minutes f.s. C.D.F. Comedy sketch by John L. Golden and Winchell Smith. Started rather slowly, but gather strength as it went along, getting many laughs. Closed well. SPENCER & WILLIAMS 20 minutes in one. Special drop. Rough comedy act, with a couple of songs, by a comedian and a pretty girl. A hit. GEORGES MARCK'S LIONS in "THE WILD GUARDIANS" 24 minutes f.s. Special set. This is a great act. The opening picture, leading up to the second scene, is interesting and works up the audience in good shape. When the curtain rose on the massive garden scene, it received a round of applause at both performances. The work with the lions is full of real thrills. NOTE; Two violinists this week - one last week. CUTS: Spencer & Williams - "dimple on her shin" "Son of a gun" Referring to people in audience. Digby Bell & Co - "Oh, my God" "Damned" "What the Hell"
