Boston, Mass. B. F. Keith's May 7th 7 HEARST-PATHE NEWS PICTORIAL 13 minutes in one. Not very interesting this week. MAZIE KING & CO 9 minutes f.s. Special set. Dancing act with two people. Acceptable opener. THE BRADS 9 minutes in one. Garden drop. Man and woman in a clever comedy tumbling act. Some difficult stunts, and got a number of laughs. Went over first-rate. SPENSER KELLY, MARION WILDER & CO 16 minutes f.s. C.D.F. This couple are assisted by a pianist and a violinist, in old-time songs. Went well at both performances. CHARLES KENNA 16 minutes in one. Street drop. A good comedy novelty in one. works as a street fakir, selling medicine out of a dress suit case. got laughs, In fact, a hit. BOSTOCK'S RIDING SCHOOL 13 minutes f.s. Special set. This act was the laughing hit of the show. work in a special red-white-and-blue cyclorama. Two white horses and nine people. Open with a conventional "rosin-back" act by the St. Leon Family; then a "mechanic" is introduced, and volunteers to ride are called from the audience. The act was a riot at both shows Monday. ADELE RITCHIE 39 minutes in one. Olio Drapery. Eighteen people. Miss Ritchie is singing four numbers, assisted at the piano by Joseph M. Daly, a Boston composer. The first two did not get her much, but the third, "Has Anybody Here Seen Rover?" with whistles distributed among the audience. got over in good shape. While Daly is playing a piano solo, Miss Ritchie changes to a Red Cross Nurse, and sings 'It's time for Every Boy to be a Soldier." She is assisted by a quartette in khaki, and on the second chorus 12 United States Coast Artillerymen from Fort Banks march out upon the stage, down into the audience, and distribute enlistment blanks. The regulars make a fine appearance and they were a riot. Two recruiting stations have been established, one in each lobby; and we are advertising this as "Recruiting Week." Colonel McCoy and Captain Pierson of the U.S.A. who have charge of the recruiting in Boston, occupied a box Monday night, and Captain Pierson made a speech, urging all young men to enlist. Thursday we will have Major Ashburn from Fort Banks; and we expect Major General Edwards, commanding the Boston District, will attend Wednesday evening. "PETTICOATS" with GRACE DUNBAR NILE & CO 26 minutes f.s. Special set. A funny comedy, handsomely staged, with one man and three extremely pretty girls. A laughing hit. PAT ROONEY & MARION BENT in "At the News Stand" 22 minutes in two. Street drop. Doing about the same act as on their last appearance, and going very big. FOUR AMARANTHS 6 minutes f.s. Palace set. These women had a hard spot following Rooney & Bent. Started rather slowly, but closed to a good hand. Report On Show Playing The Scenic Theatre Pawtucket R.I. May 7, 1917. La Pilorica Co. Man and woman and little girl seven years old. Spanish dances and toe dancing by the little one. 10 Min. Full Stage Went Well. Vardon & Perry Two men in one singing and playing guitars and a Charlie Chaplin pantomine finish. 12 Min? In One. Went Good. Lew & Mollie Hunting Man and woman in one 15 Min. Comedy skit with singing dancing talking and comedy falls and twists. Went Fairly Well. Larry Reilly and His Co. Two men one woman and three girls in a scenic Irish offering of songs dances whitty talk and a pretty Irish story. 21 Min. Full Stage. Went Big.
