PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S MAY 28, 7 PATHE. 12 min. Fairly good lot of pictures. HERBERT'S DOGS. 11 min. This act has played here several times and has always made good. Prettily staged and furnished a very good opener. SKIPPER & KASTRUP. 15 min. A man and woman in a series of songs and a dancing finish. They use a bit of comedy in one song number. Did nicely and closed to a good hand. WESTON & CLARE. 11 min. Two boys in songs and dances. Both are clever steppers and mix in some eccentric dancing in their routine. Were very well liked and finished to a big hand. RAYMOND & CAVERLEY. 16 min. These two men who have always worked in German makeup, appeared almost straight but still do their tangle talk in German accent. They were a big laughing hit, use no material whatever that is offensive and have two or three parodies which were big applause winners. Act as usual was a big hit. "THE BRIDE SHOP." 37 min. This is one of the best tabloid musical comedies vaudeville has had in years and it made just as big a hit here as it did two seasons ago. Andrew Tombes is still the principal comedian and he has a role that is filled with laughing material from start to finish. He is well supported by a company of four principals and a chorus of eight girls, and the piece is attractively staged. It was very well received, finishing to a big hand. Mr. Tombes scored an individual triumph. DONOVAN & LEE. 19 min. With a mixture of songs and comedy talk, finishing with a dancing number by the girl, this act went over in good shape. Donovan tells a number of Irish stories which got laughs and the crossfire comedy talk also brought good results. The dancing finish took them off to a big hand of applause. WILFRED CLARKE & CO. "Who Owns the Flat?" 16 min. This is a very lively farce full of action and getting plenty of laughs. It is splendidly played by a company of four with Mr. Clarke as the principal. Finished very strong. LAMBERT & BALL. 21 min. This couple was the big applause hit on the bill. They sang at least half a dozen numbers, solos and duets, and every one scored solidly. They were called back for an encore ballad which was also warmly received. The act closed to a tremendous outburst of applause. THE CALIFORNIA BOYS BAND. 18 min. This well known organization from San Francisco has been playing vaudeville for two seasons and was a big hit here. Since this act first appeared in Philadelphia, it has developed speed, offers a more varied program and has a stronger finish; in fact, can be classed as one of the best closing acts for big time vaudeville today. GENERAL REMARKS. This is a tremendously big show, a scream from a comedy standpoint and one of the biggest applause hits this season.
