Boston, Mass. B. F. Keith's July 16th 7 HEARST-PATHE NEWS PICTORIAL 11 minutes. Fair collection of news pictures. FOUR SENSATIONAL BOISES 17 minutes f.s. Cut garden set. A good casting act with three men and one woman. Considerable comedy. An excellent opener. COOPER and SMITH 17 minutes in one. Special drop. I sincerely hope we will never play this act again. It is the same story as with the old Cooper & Robinson combination, - a fight every two minutes. They had a row Monday night over a song, and split, intending to walk out of the theatre without finishing the week or giving us time to get another act. We succeeded in throwing a "scare" into them and they agreed to play the week out, but with the continual wrangling and bad blood between the pair, their work suffers. Apparently Cooper keeps nagging the other darky just as he used to nag Robinson. This coon won't stand for it, and then the fight starts. We always have the same trouble when Cooper plays here, no matter who his partner is. McMAHON, DIAMOND and CHAPLOW 17 minutes in 3. Special set. A fine dancing act with two girls and a man. The rag doll dance and the Russian number are exceptionally good. WILLIAM J. ("RAGTIME") REILLY, U.S.N. 18 minutes in one. Olio drop. This chap walked away with the applause hit of the show. He is really a clever entertainer and puts his songs over in great shape. [MASSARD?] SHORT and CO in "The Ruby Ray" 21 minutes f.s. Special set. This English actor raised Cain about his dressing rooms, his billing, and most everything else. Got quite a number of laughs and closed fairly well. THE MISSES CAMPBELL 17 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. These clever girls put over their usual hit. THE MEISTERSINGERS "AT THE RAILROAD STATION" 27 minutes f.s. Special set. 12 male singers in a scenic singing act, is for one week only. The programme is practically all new this year, and they went over first-rate: in fact, better than ever before, with a big closing. BERT FITZGIBBON 23 minutes in one. Olio drop. Has some new parodies and about the same line of talk. Made the audience laugh, and held this hard spot in good shape. He is now assisted by a girl plant in a box who comes upon the stage and sings and dances. McCLELLAN and CARSON 11 minutes f.s. Special set. Roller skaters. Beautiful costumes, elaborate settings, and some good tricks on the rollers. An acceptable closer. CUTS Bert Fitzgibbon - "For God's sake" and business of striking tormentors with stick. McMahon, Diamond & Chaplow - "Some Night" song.
