Report on Show playing at Keith's Theatre, Providence, R.I. Week of Ocotber 1, 1917. Charles Lovenberg. The bill this week is not very satisfactory. We fell down in two or three instances sufficiently to mar the whole entertainment, and following the excellent bills of the past three weeks it suffers by comparison and no doubt the box-office will suffer also. OLLIE YOUNG & APRIL Soap Bubble Experts, a very pleasing novelty. Ten minutes F.S. ANN SUTOR Miss Sutor no longer belongs to the class of vaudeville we are playing. I can't conceive why she was given a route. If we had had a good act in there following the quiet work of the previous one it would have helped our show materially, as it was we fell down with a heay thud. 16 minutes in one. EARL CAVANAUGH & CO. IN "Mr. Inquisitive". This act also was a disappointment, although I can't call it a bad act but at the salary he is getting I don't see why he doesn't engage some girls with a little bit of ability instead of the ones he has. The act went only fairly well. 20 minutes F.S. SIX AMERICAN DANCERS. In its entirety I think this is the best liked act these folks have given. It is entirely new in every respect and it was the first thing we had to wake up the audience. 17 min. in one, and a half. HARRY LESTER MASON In a monologue "The Waiter". Very good material and it went over very well indeed. 15 minutes in one. PERCY HASWELL & CO. Miss Haswell has a very pretty sketch which was well played and well liked; but it is not a headliner by any means, consequently we fell down here again. A secondary feature the act is all right. FERN & DAVIS This team walked away with the honors of the show which they are entitled to. They gave a corking good vaudeville act and made good every minute they were on the stage. DUPREE AND DUPREE A veru good and attractive bycicle and unicycle act. 9 minutes F.S. Motion pictures O.K.
