Boston, Mass. Keith's Sept. 24th., 1917. Pictures; Hearst Pathe- Pictures covering current events of the day. The Geralds; 8 min. f.s. Man and woman. Spl. setting. These people play Cello, violin and zylophone arrangement of Mandolins consisting of thirty four instruments; Gypsy camp scene. Quiet opening act. The playing of all the mandolins at the one time seemed to put them over to a good hand. Britt Wood; 9 min. in 1. This man is doing the same act as in former years with the exception of story telling. Don't think the act as big as in former years but went over well. Ford Sisters and Marshall; 21 min. f.s.. Spl. setting. The Ford Sisters dance as well as usual and are ably assisted by Mr. Marshall at the piano who sings a number of his own compositions. The act closed to a good hand. Comfort & King; 19 min. in 1. This is the same act that played here before but as both men are clever in their line, the act held down its spot nicely. Percy Haswell & Co; 21 min. f.s.. This skit entitled "Heartsease" is well played but does not seem to come up to expectation. Went fair. Mme. Chilson Orhman; 17 min. in 1. It is really a treat to hear a voice like this in vaudeville. Miss Orhman along with having a remarkable soprano voice makes an exceptionally fine stage appearance. Her act was a decided hit with our audience. Adelaide & Hughes 27 min. f.s.. This really remarkable clever dancers did all that was expected of them and with their beautiful costumes and stage effects went over big. Felix Adler; 17 min. in 1. Mr. Adler with his nonsensical songs and chatter made his usual hit with our audience, and closed to a big hand. Gautiers' Toy Shop; 11 min f.s.. This animal act consisting of trained ponies and dogs, is in a class by itself, being original in every detail. Made good closing act. COMMENT: The Ford Sisters took on a fit of temerpament on account of stage dressingroom Monday afternoon and refused to go on al though Mr. Marshall went on with two numbers expecting them to make their appearance any minute. They might at least have gone on in the costumes in which they were already dressed and done something, but they were very much up-stage and made a nasty affair out of a simple misunderstanding.
