181 REPORT OF SHOW AT KEITH'S THEATRE PROVIDENCE FOR THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 15, 1917. CHARLES LOVENBRRG, Manager. The bill this week is quite good; though not the best of the season. WHITE'S COMEDY CIRCUS: Two trained mules, two ponies and several leaping dogs. A good opening act, could close the show in a pinch. 12 minutes F.S. BISSET & BESTRY: Two men dancing act; they did very well indeed. 12 minutes in one. LA VIER: Talking trapezist. A hit. 14 minutes F.S. MARIE FITZGIBBON: Story teller, not much new material but she went very well in spite of that. 14 minutes in one. WILL WARD & GIRLS: This is Mr. Ward's hoem town and of course he was a very big hit; still I think the act would be a success anywhere. 23 minutes F.S. DICKINSON & DEAGON: A real hit, which they deserve to be. 23 minutes in one. SALLY FISHER: Representing her last seasons' success. 22 minutes in one. MOORE & WHITEHEAD: This act secured the least applause of any act on the bill, other than the first act; and laughs also were far from numerous. Whatever may be said of them in other cities and of acts of similar nature the fact remains that, Providence audiences do not want them; for which Providence audiences are to be commended. To my mind their act is cheap and course and in many ways offensive to people of refined tastes. 24 minutes in one. MOTION PICTURES: Retreat of the Germans at the battle of the Arras. ---CUTS--- MOORE & WHITEHEAD: "damn fool"; the word "god" used on several occasions; thumbing the nose"; lady putting money in stocking, and a great many other cuts could be made; but by doing so I would eliminate all the meat of the act, so I am obliged to let the others stand.
