PHILADELPHIA B.F.KEITH'S OCT.22, 7 PATHE. 15 min. Pictures up to the average. CYCLING BRUNETTES. 9 min. A very good two-men bicycle act with a good routine of tricks and some well handled comedy. Did very well in this spot. CHARLES & ADELAIDE WILKENS. 16 min. This act drags a little at the start because of their using some very old gags. It picks up with an eccentric dance by the man and finishes very well with a burlesque tango. KENNEDY & BURT. 14 min. Young fellow and girl in a prettily staged singing and comedy talking act. They handle some crossfire talk that brought plenty of laughs and get their songs over in good shape. Closed to a good hand. OLGA BORIS. 13 min. This is the first American tour for this woman who was formerly a Court musician in Russia. She is a very fine pianiste but lacks the vaudeville atmosphere to get her what she really deserves. She finished to a liberal hand of applause after playing several classical numbers and one popular American ballad, for which she used only one hand. When she gets away from the concert style, she will show to even better advantage. LUCILLE CAVANAGH. (Second week) 22 min. She made only one change in her routine of dances but put over a good big applause hit. CRAWFORD & BRODERICK. 15 min. Following two other mixed team acts, this couple put over one of the big applause hits of the show. The girl does the comedy lead in the act and puts over every line with a laugh. They finish with a song and dance number which went over big and they were forced to come back to take several bows. BLOSSOM SEELEY & CO. 28 min. Although she had to follow two big applause winners, Miss Seeley held down the headline position in good shape. Her act consists mainly of ragtime songs in which she is assisted by five young men, one of whom plays the cornet in the orchestra. Most of her songs are new and presented with special business and several flashy costumes. At the finish of her act, the audience applauded until she came out for a little speech during which she made a strong appeal to buy Liberty Bonds. LESTER. 20 min. Still working with the single figure, using a routine of talk followed by the drinking trick while singing and smoking. He did very well in the next-to-closing position, finishing to a very good hand. THREE JAHNS. 7 min. Three men in a routine of balancing and perch tricks. They are attired in sailor costume and their routine is different from several other acts of this sort. They held the closing position in good shape and finished to a good hand. GENERAL REMARKS. With Lucille Cavanagh in her second week and Blossom Seeley's big ragtime production dividing feature honors and surrounded by a very good variety bill, the show played very satisfactorily and got plenty of applause.
