PHILADELPHIA B. F. KEITH'S NOV. 5, 7 PATHE. 14 min. Fair average of pictures. SIMMONS & BRADLEY. 9 min. Man and woman on roller skates. Routine includes dancing and fancy figure skating, well executed. Did very nicely as an opener. MABEL RUSSELL, MARTY WARD & CO. 17 min. A lively singing turn. Five men support Miss Russell, one of them doing comedy and opening with a good comedy song. The act has plenty of snap to it and the harmony is good. Did very well. JACK LA VIER. 15 min. A very good novelty. He does on the trapeze comedy work on the order of that used by Bert Melrose on tables, except that he has a very good line of talk which drew plenty of laughs. He registered a good sized hit. ALLEN & HOWARD. 18 min. Their sketch "A Real Pal" is the same one they have been using for the past year. It contains a lot of witty dialogue and was a good laugh winner. EDDIE LEONARD & CO. 27 min. He was a big individual hit. Each of his songs went well and at the finish the applause lasted so long that he was forced to sing a couple of his old songs and conclude with a speech. Four banjoists and a piano-player furnish numbers to permit Leonard to make three changes. There is too much of this music, otherwise the act went over in great shape. HALLEN & HUNTER. 17 min. Substituted at the last minute for Wellington Cross who was ill, this couple proved one of the big laughing hits of the show. The woman plays the violin and the man handles the comedy, the combination forming a very pleasing act. MACART & BRADFORD. "Love, Honor and Obey." 21 min. This is a one-act farce with a domestic theme and plenty of action. It was placed too late on the bill, however, and got only a fair amount of laughs. It finished to a fair hand and in an earlier spot will undoubtedly do better. FLORENZE TEMPEST. 22 min. Her new act is a very high-class singing turn, nicely staged, well handled and went over in excellent shape. A change in the bill sent her down to the next-to-closing spot but she held it in a very satisfactory manner. All but her opening song are new. She appears in both male and female attire. Finished strong. THE LA VARS. 8 min. In the closing position, an unusual spot for this kind of a dancing act, this couple did very well. They are good dancers, have a showy routine which won liberal applause. GENERAL REMARKS. The loss of Wellington Cross who reported ill from New York caused several changes and the substitution of a new act at the last minute. This resulted in a rather rough-working show but in the new running order, it proved a very satisfactory show.
