REPORT OF SHOW PLAYING AT KEITH'S PROVIDENCE THEATRE WEEK OF NOV. 12, 1917. We have a very good bill this week; the best in some time. Everything made good in the most satisfactory way with the exception of the headliner, that got by fairly well. CHARLES LOVENBERG, Manager. BICKNELL-CLAY MODELER: Well known act which opened the show satisfactorily, getting some applause and a few laughs. 8 Minutes in 3. DR. JOHN C. BOWKER: Illustrated lecture on Russia. Dr. Bowker is always a welcome visitor to Providence and this time appeared more so. He has a very interesting talk on a timely topic, which held the audience in close attention and he was rewarded at the finish with a heavy outburst of applause. This morning's paper praised him and I talked with a number of people last night and this morning who particularly mentioned him as a pleasing feature of last night's program. I would advise any manager to play him. 18 minutes in one. HERMAN & SHIRLEY. In a little sketch which served to introduce Herman's wonderful skeleton contortion dances which made a big hit. 15 minutes F.S. MISSES CAMPBELL: Who made a bigger hit than ever before. 12 minutes in one. FISHER & HAWLEY: In a Jewish sketch called "Business Is Business".- Very good indeed. 22 minutes F.S. SYLVIA CLARKE: Comedy songs which got over very well with the audience although, I don't especially care for her myself. 14 minutes in one. "THE GIRL ON THE MAGAZINE": A good deal of effort is made in this production and the individuals are satisfactory, particularly, Miss Millership, but somehow the act doesn't seem to get anywhere. Their numbers are not very attractive and all in all from a headline standpoint, and considering their salary, the act is a disappointment. 22 minutes F.S. BAILEY & COWAN: Songs and instrumental numbers which made a great hit. 15 minutes in one. THE DARRAS BROS: Very good hand to hand balancing and head balancing on flying trapeze. 6 minutes F.S. MOTION PICTURES O.K.
