Boston B. F. Keith's November 12th. 7 Pictures;- Hearst - Pathe News O.K.. Catherine Powell 12 min., f.s.. Spl. Miss Powell offers a varied routine of dances, making her changes in full view of the audience with the assistance of maid. This act is very prettily dressed, staged, and the young lady is a very clever dancer. Opened our show in good style. Phina & Co. 10 min. in 1. This is the old Josephine Gassman act brought up to date. The three pickaninnies put over their singing and dancing in a very pleasing manner, and Miss Gassman sings one number to a good hand. Act went over good. Violet Besson 13 min. f.s.. This is a travesty on the high cost of living. The theme is pretty far-fetched dealing with the value of an egg a period of 50 years from today. The act scores a few laughs during its progress, but did not finish very strong. It was pretty well played. Marguerite Farrell 16 min. in 1. Spl. drop. Miss Farrell does a series of character numbers. During changes a picture sheet shows the interior of dressingroom with maid assisting in her changes. All her numbers are rendered in a clever manner and went over very good. Yvette & Saranoff 20 min. in 1., Spl. drop. This couple put over a cleverly arranged program with their violins, singing and dancing. Went good. Kenny & Hollis 19 min. in 1. Spl. drop. These well known comedians have a lot of inoffensive comedy and "Nut" material that pleased our audience very much. Closed to a big hand. McKay & Ardine 20 min. Spl. in 1 and f.s.. Two classy performers with dancing, singing and talking, all above the average. Went over very big. Sam Bernard 20 min. in 1. Even the German make-up and dialect of this artist failed to prevent him from being the big hit of the show. One continuous laugh. Closed to a big hand. Brenk's Bronze Models. 8 min. f.s.. This beautiful act with well trained horse in artistic poses, while of a quiet nature, held our audience to the finish. Cuts McKay & Ardine;-Please eliminate gag with reference to having two wives buried. This is not an opportune time for graveyard stuff. Kenny & Hollis;-Please eliminate reference to girl dressing alone, powdering back, etc., B.V.D. gag.
