LETTERS ...It is rather strange that someone has not thought of this grand fanmag digest 'til now. I find it impossible to get all the mags due to the vast amount of awful stuff that must be waded through to obtain anything good and also the money it requires to keep such a practice from dying out. Couldn't you fatten it up a bit and not "digest" the material too much? (See last month's editorial.) C. Hidley I felt honored to see my MAN THE SPACE ROCKETS reprinted and I must say that the skillful manner in which you have condensed this shows a very definite talent in that direction... I'd never have believed the piece could be cut in half! All of the material reprinted--also the editorial--was very interesting. I hadn't seen most of it before. Graph Waldeyer ...With the fifty or so odd fanzines being published a digest is certainly welcomed. ...don't hesitate to include in FMZ good stuff from your other publications. (Several LA fans act as a committee to pick any good material for digesting out of other ASTRA PUBS.) Emrys Evans F M Z DIGEST was recently highly honored by being given FANTASY FICTION FIEND's bi-monthly award for outstanding fan publishing. To Julius Unger, our sincerest thanks, and to Julius and all of our readers we say that we will continue to maintain F M Z DIGEST at the high standards that earned it this award.
