************************************** "Offhand, not having a LeZ near, I may make a few comments re the fans in service. Right now i'm bettered by one stripe, and si is Kenealy by two: he's a Tech Sgt. now. Cunningham is a PFC. and Kull, Maxwell and Gibson are privates as of now. McMurtry is a fist Lt. and so is Shroyer." -Joe Fortier ((We'd appreciate hearing more about Kull, Maxwell and Gibson, as they aren't at present in our War Dept. Addresses, please.)) HAH! A SCOTSMAN: "I would write you a letter saying all sorts of nice things about LeZ only I dislike writings letters at home, when all sorts of more delectable things be done, and even if I didn't, there wood be dozens of other people to write first. However, comrade, the recent fat issue (January) slurped in and I read some of it. Much was not up to standard (( but was it up to Street & Smith?)) . . .me, I have a curious liking for hpp in LaGhoulie, and most of your other writers are ver anaemic by comparison. One suggestion-- that you give a rest to this listing of fans in service. Probably it's just a foible of mine, but the thing annoys me. In time, as over here, you'll have every fan (bar a very small proportion & the youngsters) listed every issue, and just think what that sort of thing would look like in Fido. Remember your mentioning awhile back that 1st issues of FFM brought a hige price. Am therefore sending one seperately to pay for all these LeZzzzz. Luv." -Doug Webster, Idlewild, Fountainhall road, Aberdeen, Scotland. ((All the above came on a postcard. About the growing list of fans in service: when it gets too big we'll reverse the procedure by printing a half page for such a worthy purpose. In another year there will be, maybe, 25 to 50 fans [[word is faded and unreadable]] not in. Meanwhile that first issue of FFM (fine condition) is for sale. Money will apply to Doug's subsciption. Bids?)) THIS GUY IS SLIGHTLY LATE: "For some time now I have been following the work of Miss Les Tina with the closest of interest. I must confess that I haven't thot much of her work, dolt that I am, believing that she needed a lot more atomical assistance. Now I must eat humble pie. Miss Les Tina has undoubtedly turned out to be the greatest portaitist that stfiction has ever produced. How long did you have to pose for her while she did this cover (the Annish.)?" Jack Wiedenbeck, 115 Marjorie st., Battle Creek, Mich. ((So long that we became mighty hungry. Which explains the slightly tranparent nature of our Charles Atlas fizzeke. Meanwhile, We have two photo-lithographed covers planned for future issues. One of fan photos, and one of fan stickers similar to Ackerman's sticker reproduction of two or three years ago.
