FANFILE Page 5 Forry commented on the cover of SPECULA #1, and thereby hangs a tale. Up till a day or so before publication, we had no cover - and no idea for one. But Walt had recently gotten a folder of ready-made illustrations - all kinds of subjects. So, between two pictures of airplanes, and a dragon (from a Chop Suey ad!), we made a montage that worked very well. The only thing was, we discovered some time afterwards, the dragon is mangled. In fact, he don't match up the various parts at all! We joined the Weird Tales Club, and - great scott! - here's a letter out of place. Should have been way back there. But here it is now. In November we wrote a letter to Donn Brezier, complaining of his iconaclastic treatment of the Necronomicon myth. Donn answered, on November 20, 1940: Thank you for your comments via airmail;
