sults of the Palmer influence. The only commendable things about the Ann-Issue are the abundant Krupa illustrations, all good, and the Paul back cover. C'est mal, ne lisez pas si vous ne voularez pas avoir mal. Famous Fantastic Mysteries: "Claimed" is magnificent stuff, and should definitely not to be missed. Didn't care for the McMorrow tale, tho it really wasn't bad. Finlay seems to be changing his style, and I'm not sure it's for the better. Fantastic Adventures: and mid-semester exams arrived at the same time, and consequently F.A. is attracting some wandering dust nomads. The same goes for Startling. Ah, well, one wonders if it were not a blessing in disguise! FANZINES Musts----- FANTASY FICTION FIELD: All the news about everything dished up in a pleasant, breezy style. No personalities, no mud-slinging, no damfool half-truths and lies served ala Fantasy News. Unbiased reporting, photostats of the coming pro mags, even margins, a service and a squawk column. What more could youse want? The price is six for a quarter, and the address 1702 Dahill Road, Brooklyn, New York. FMZ DIGEST: One of those remarkably good new fanzines Art Joquel has been turning out so swiftly lately. This one is really unique in that it contains digests of the best material from the fanzines. It's only a nickel per; six for a quarter, from Art at 1426 W. 38 St., Los Angeles, California. Beautifully mimeographed, and well-edited. An item you shouldn't be without. FANTASIA: Probally the best of the new mags. Splendid art, good poetry, fine technical work. "Plurality" is quite the best story I ever hope to read in a fanzine. Don't miss it. The articles are good, with Goldstone's comments on the pathetic George Sterling, and Mickey Finn's hilarious fantasy taking honors. Dime, from Lou Goldstone, 269 Sixteenth Avenue, San Francisco, California. FUTURIAN WAR DIGEST: An English mag that the war just can't stop. Which is fortunate, 'cause I think it's just about the most entertaining and interesting thing on either side of the ocean. All the British boys get together and contribute a mimeographed sheet or two, then all the sheets are assembled and made into one mag. A quarter to 4 Grange Terrance, Chapeltown, Leeds 7, England, will bring you this for an indefinite period. J. Michael Rosenblum is the boy who slaps it all together. Good Enuf----- ECLIPSE: Dime from Richard J. Kuhn, 13598 Cheyenne, Detroit, Michigan. Fine art work, several good columns, and fair material by Ackerman and Warner. This is a fairly good first issue, and the mag is really going places, so why not hop on the wagon now, and avoid missing any copies? Complete Your Files----- FAN-ATIC: 17 pages, five cents, Charles A. Beling, Harrington Park, N.J. Nice nickel's worth. Widner gripes about the fanzine situation, Ackerman gives a new twist to an old article, and Thompson and Pong round things out satisfactorily. Good mimeoing. Some of the departments seem to be in the wrong place, but otherwise it's a rather worthwhile fanzine.
