PROJECTS & BENEFITS A E WINNIE Inner Public Relations Head ((Internal Public Relations is now under the supervision of EVA FIRESTONE; however, Ev Winne compiled this report because he had more of the data regarding activities during the past few months on hand. Lack of time has forced him to relinquish this position.)) THE NFFF AUXILIARY The last news we heard on the Auxiliary was that the Acting President had resigned and the group was inactive. From what little we have heard, it would seem that many of the active members favor concentrating their activity into NFFF, which always needs all the workers it can get. This male never did believe in such segregation even if voluntary and thinks it would only lead to duplication of effort. Gad -- next thing we know the fem fans would be holding their own separate convention --a most distasteful thought! The fem fans may be in a minority in N3F but their number is constantly growing. In activity and accomplishment they have a tremendous record and this is especially true in 1950. We need only point out that the new Inner PRO is Eva Firestone (also Hostess of the Welcommittee) and the co-Secy-Treas. is Deedee Lavender. The ranks of the Welcommittee and the Recruiters are full of women members who do a fine job for the club. We've just learned that Pres. Sneary has appointed Janie Lamb as head of a special club project. The WelCom is also indebted to Dot Keller and Perdita Lilly for valuable help in a pinch. Special mention should again be made of Eva Firestone who volunteered to list the Membership Survey and Fan Poll results when this department got jammed up -- but good! We would like to see the women members putting out that all-female fanzine as a club project. It'd be good, too, we bet just as is that other Auxiliary project, the NFFF Lending Library. ((Details on the Library elsewhere in this TNFF)) FINLAY PORTFOLIOS Walter Dunkelberger informs us that Portfolios #1 and #2 are available at $1.00 each. 100 sets of each portfolio are being reserved for NFFF members. No. 1 is the same portfolio that used to be available to N3F members as a club project and contains "8 full page illustrations from the pages of FFM by the acknowledged master of fantastic art ((see Laureate Awards page)), Virgil Finlay." The second Finlay Portfolio also contains "8 beautiful examples of the best in fantastic art." Dunk says this is the last fan printing of these portfolios as future rights are reserved by the artist and publishers. Proceeds will be used to put the Minn-Dak Fantasy Society back in the black. We suggest you order now and the sets are being advertised in non-fan circles and the supply is limited, according to Dunk. Send your $1.00 or $2.00 to Walter Dunkelberger, 1443 4th Ave. South, Fargo, North Dakota, ordering by number. Mention your N3F membership and be sure to include your address. STATIONERY AND SALES Over 400 sheets and envelopes of club stationery and 60 strips of club seals have been mailed to new members, requests from those skipped previously and club workers, since April first. Supplies ran out in early May. Printing is done for the club at cost by KayMar Carlson, who has just notified us (May 9) that more is on the way. If you have requested it, you should have it by the time you read this item. If not, please send a p.c. to the Secy-Treas. Are your 1950 NFFF dues paid?
