4 STEFNEWS 21 Apr 46 al on the Moskowitz-Derleth trouble in Vampire; and some Quotations and Comments by Koenig. JANUS Win #2 (Spencer & Whitman; apparently mimeod in England). Contents include an article finding fault with Dunkelberger, and some miscellany. ------------------------- PROZINES Cover-copper for the May 46 Astounding is Chan Davis's The Nightmare 41/36.6-U. Chan also has a considerable letter in this issue, along with DeCamp, Bill Stoy, and Pacificon publicity man 4sJ. '' The other "novelette" in this issue is by Ego Clarke, Rescue Party 44.3 (43.5), which gets going on the last page. '' Also ending nicely is A Son Is Born 41.5, practically the first installment of a serial, and unusually lucid for Van Vogt. '' Alexander The Bait 45.1/37.4, by "William Tenn", is a rather obvious cash-in on radar-moon publicity. '' Kuttner continues psychiatric in The Cure 63 (94). '' Frederic Brown contributes Placet Is a Crazy Place 44.9, an enjoyable little tale. '' The rotogravure section gives some photos and sketches, with text, of electrical equipment and jet motors. The science article, Phony Atoms, is about a good deal more than that, providing a good review of the situation on particles at this date. Campbell's editorial is on silicones.
