Enter a little boy holding a broken plaster dream.

Boy: See, my dream is broken.
        I dropped it on the floor and it fell all to pieces.
        I don't like dreams; they always break.
        I don't like anything.

Man: My little boy,
         What do you know of dreams?
         Your dreams are made of plaster.
         Plaster will not hold together
         When it falls to the floor.
         Make some more; this one was no good.

Boy: I hate dreams; I never want anything.
         I'm always dropping things; I'm no good.
        I'll never build another dream again.
        I am going to run away.

Man: Oh, now, don't be annoyed if one dream breaks;
         There are millions of other patterns.
         Try once more.

Boy: No!  I'm running away!  I hate it; I hate it!

Exit boy, running over distant hill.

Enter a woman.

Woman: Why does the boy run away? His little dream is nothing.

Man: He will come back. He is young yet.

Finis.
