He held to her hand. "Thank you," he said. "You have been so kind. Shall I ever see you again?" "Yes", she replied. "I think you shall. And the next time you come to this land, don't be afraid." "I won't", he answered. He turned to her. The light was much brighter now, though still faint. Just for a moment he saw the sweet, kind features of a beautiful woman and then she was gone. He began to run toward the light. His feet flew over the ground. He was close to the summit of the hill and the light was so much brighter. It seemed to spread before him like a pearl dawn and then, with one great movement it focused into a disc- "The crisis is past," someone said. "It was close for a moment, but he'll live". "Thank God!" How familiar the voice sounded. He looked about him weakly. The bed-lamp stood on the table beside him. And then his wife was kissing him and her tears were warm on his face. {dingbat} -oOo-{/dingbat} BIOGRAPHICALLY SPEAKING Herschel Maurice Jenkinson, Jr. On July 25, 1940, he became, legally, a man. We therefore assume he is now a little over 21 years of age. Is single and has hopes of remaining in such a state for an indefinite period. Isn't filly-silly, not much, that is Fantasy has been an increasingly greater part of his life since 1931. He has a collection of 685 stf and fantasy fiction mags, including 91 duplicate copies. Also has quite a few books and several hundred science mags. His hobbies are the collecting and reading of science and stf mags and books; the collecting of phonograph records; and the messing (and he does mean messing!) around with ten and fifteen year old radios. He began drawing stf for his own amusement in 1937. This year, W. Lawrence Helming, editor of STARDUST, saw some of his work (that he had sent in) and decided he liked it, the result being that he was made staff artist for STARDUST. He has no favorite sports, but will play in anything the crowd does. His most strenous exercise, and hobby, is the trick of chewing gum, eating an apple, reading his favorite stf story, and listening to the radio, all at the same time. Is six feet tall, dark, and boy, is Dracula jealous. [dingbat]*****************[/dingbat] [Red/pink box with text in it] FELLOWS! Don't leave it up to a few members to always fill up space. Surely you have some observation to make on the broad field of fantasy. It doesn't have to be long. Do YOUR share to build up the IFA! Send it soon. Ted. [/box]
