THE DAWN SECTION MAIL AT DAWN (13) TO DAWN and a rosy Morn'; Just got back from a long and wonderful trip out west and found waiting for me, your Aug. issue with my poem and letter in it. I am so glad you put the letter in as from it I hope your readers will know that I do not consider myself infallable, but rather was only trying to help. To those gentlemen who got a kick out of my gargling..God bless you, and to those who didn't..God bless you too. However, I will wait and watch for something good from Mr. Gibson and Mr. Pavlat. With such spark, what a yarn could be forth coming, and I mean I'm for it. You say your mag might fold if'en you don't get some more stuff and dough? Well, gosh...I haven't got one of your mags yet but what I think of the hard work it took to get it out. The reading of letters, then the printing of same the addressing and mailing is a heck of a job in itself. I'M thinking about all those Christmas cards last year and the ones comin up..it is a big job, not a little one. And I for one appreciate what you are doing and have done. I also think of the wonderful way fans have to get a chance to let loose to express theirselves but mainly it should be a source of entertainment. NO? I gather it should be a friendly thing. Now and then I find a chance to chuckle at some of the bickering but some do take real nasty digs. This I don't understand. Without a doubt many of your readers are brilliant and have read a lot and really know what they are talking about. Their thoughts show the workings of young minds fresh and quick and dependable. Now, when these people write straight without the causict comment, it's really something worth reading but when I have to wade thru a lot of dribble like; he said that I said what Joe told me not to tell him and if it weren't for the.... and so on and on. Course it's just one man's opinion. So I hope I didn't do wring. But what I'm getting at is this; Let's stick together. Keep this wonderful lil' ole rag agoing, it's worth it. We sort of know each other because of it. Some day we may meet if we're lucky, and if we have been able to give and take gracefully, no gore, what a grand thing when you do actually shake hands. You k now I've been listening to the Securities Conference, now and then, and the bickering there is really something and those men are supposed to be as high as you can go. And then I read Dawn and I say; Hmmm, we got nothing to worry about..this bunch that's coming up now are a jump ahead and when they do take the reins a lot of folks will relax. So fellers, keep up the clatter datter on Science-fiction and space ships, etc. But cut out the rough stuff. And let's support lil' ole Dawn for a long time. I think it will be worth it. You know this is my forst introduction to a fan club, and it happened quite by accident, but I not only have learned a lot from it, but I actually find myself waiting for Dawn to pop out of my mailbox. It is like getting a bunch of letters from a lot of guys all at one time. I'd miss it if it stopped. I'm writing a yarn for you if you
