THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA IOWA CITY, IOWA 52240 May 19, 1972 School of Art and Art History Dear Mr. Swanson: You will soon receive notification by the University of your appointment as a half time assistant in the School of Art and Art History. This pays $3200.00 for two semesters, beginning this fall, and calls for 20 hours of service weekly to the School. For out-of-state students, it also carries remission of the out-of-state portion of your tuition, saving you $490 if you carry a full load of course work. Congratulations on your selection for this opportunity. While you are ultimately responsible to the Director, you will report to Hans Breder who will assign you your work. Your choice for this assignment was under competitive circumstances and represents both an honor and a challenge. Please know that we will appreciate the aid brought to us through your participation in the assistantship program. Sincerely, Frank Seiberling Frank Seiberling, Director School of Art and Art History FS:ja
