O. Trunk The O. Trunk is a collection of writing, performance documents, and found illustrations/quotations relating to the historically resonant maritime tragedy, the sinking of the Titanic. Contents: 70 loose pages, 8 1/2 by 11: Original and found poetry 4 whole oranges, dried (40 years) 1 broken water glass wrapped in a dinner napkin 7 photos of three related performance pieces 5 reproduced illustrations from the souvenir book The Story of The Wreck of the Titanic: the Ocean's Greatest Disaster Artist's hair (sample) and Coconut Palm Fiber (sample from performance piece as Captain John Smith, Arc) 3 life jackets Installation.: Objects to be viewed in trunk. Written fragments to be 1. wall hung or 2. copied for viewer handling or 3. recorded and played as audio at installation, depending on appropriateness to the space available. Ancient history Modern history Whirlwinds Shipwrecks Even the Titanic that I read about in the paper So many image-associations that I can't get into my poems Because I'm still a very bad poet Because the universe sweeps me on Because I forgot to buy accident insurance for the trip.
