Dennis Swanson October 7, 1971 TO: ALL CHPA PERSONNEL FROM: William Hibbard On October 23rd or 24th (date to be finalized soon) it has been proposed that the CHPA produce a "midway" hour in the evening in the Art Museum. Briefly what this refers to is a midway concert, or circus, or bazaar in which, in our case, various artists will perform for one hour pieces in a certain spot in the museum. In order to take this successful the evening must be rich in diversity. It is obvious that if we are going to have many pieces, the scope of the pieces must be carefully considered. That is, beware of being too grand. In short, think in analog terms of a bazaar booth (these thoughts are just to give you some general indication of the type of event we want). The public will come in at 8:00 p.m. and will leave at 9:00 p.m. This is not a continuous project. It would seem obvious that the mechanics of producing numerous works simultaneously will require efficiency and a minimum amount of extraneous materials. Set-up time and break-down time cost money. Please send any ideas for this evening in to the office within the next few days so that these proposals can be sorted out and a portion of them produced. Thank you
