Your admission to the University is final if your admission letter reads: We are pleased to inform you that you are eligible for admission to the State University of Iowa. Your admission statement will be mailed to you about September 1. PLACEMENT TESTS All students new to the University (freshmen and college transfers) who are admitted to the Colleges of Liberal Arts, Engineering, Nursing, and Pharmacy and to the Dental Hygiene program are {Italics} required {/Italics} to complete the American College Tests. These tests are required of all students, no matter what their grade-point averages, and even though similar tests may have been taken at other approved colleges or universities. The tests were offered to high school seniors on November 7, 1959, February 27, 1960, and April 23, 1960, in testing centers throughout the United States as a part of the American College Testing Program. The tests were also offered to junior college students in Iowa on these dates. In addition to the testing dates mentioned above, the University engages in a summer ACT testing program in co-operation with other colleges and universities who participate in the ACT program. The tests are offered in Iowa City, Cedar Falls, Ames, Clarinda, and Le Mars beginning June 17, 1960, each Monday and Friday and ending August 15, 1960. You may go to the testing center which is most convenient for you. Students are requested to report to room 114, University Hall, State University of Iowa (Iowa City); to Sabin Hall, Iowa State Teachers College (Cedar Falls); to Room 3, Beardshear Hall, Iowa State University (Ames), to the Administration Building, Clarinda Junior College, (Clarinda); or to the Administration Building, Westmar College (Le Mars). Testing sessions begin promptly at 8:30 a.m., except at Westmar College (1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.), and will be concluded by 12:00 noon of the same day. A fee of $3.00 will be charged for completing these tests. The fee may be pain at the center on the date the tests are completed. If you {Italics} have completed {/Italics} these tests, it will not be necessary for you to complete additional tests. If you have not completed these tests, you should take advantage of the summer testing dates. Overnight accommodations can be arranged, if you plan to take the tests in Iowa City, by writing in advance to the Office of Director of Dormitories, University Hall, giving the exact dates you desire accommodations. Your payment at the rate of $1.50 per person per night must accompany your request. If you {Italics} do not complete {/Italics} these required tests during the summer, it will be necessary for you to do so on September 16, 1960, in Iowa City. The tests will be given in Macbride Auditorium, Macbride Hall; you are to report there at 1:00 p.m. If you have a dormitory contract, overnight accommodations can be arranged by writing in advance to the Office of Director of Dormitories, 5
