It will be seen from the graph that of this representative group of Iowa graduates, those who made the highest scores on their tests (taken about four years earlier) are the most numerous and that those who made the lowest scores on their tests are the least numerous, although a few did make it. The University wants to help you with your educational problems in every way it can. Perhaps you will want to discuss your test profile with your adviser. He will be able to explain the tests more fully and will be able to give you valuable suggestions about study habits. Also, he is familiar with other University offices that may be able to help you. ADVANCE PAYMENT All students new to the Unviersity, admitted to the Colleges of Business Administration, Engineering, Law, Liberal Arts, Nursing, and Pharmacy and the Dental Hygiene program: 1. An advance payment of $50.00 must be submitted to the Director of Admissions within two weeks after notification of admission to the University. 2. Requests for dormitory accommodationscannot be processed by the Dormitory Assignment Office until after the student has been admitted to the University and the required advance payment of $50.00 has been received by the Director of Admissions. 3. The advance payment of $50.00 is required within two weeks of date of admission even though the student may receive a scholarship, grant, or award. In the event the amount of the scholarship, grant, or award equals the amount of full fees or tuition and the student does not reside in a University dormitory or fraternity, the advance payment of $50.00 will be held as a credit in the student's University account or, upon request to the University Cashier after October 15, for the first semester, or March 1, for the second semester, will be refunded. Otherwise, if the student's scholarship, grant, or award amounts to less than the full fees or tuition, and/or the student is to reside in a University dormitory, married housing, or fraternity, the advance payment of $50.00 will be credited to the student's University account. Refund Dates In the event an application for admission and/or dormitory accommodations are not withdrawn in writing prior to August 1, the advance payment of $50.00 is forfeited. If the dormitory application is cancelled prior to the refund date and the student plans to enroll, the $50.00 advance payment will be held in the student's University account and credited toward payment of fees. If the student fails to withdraw his dormitory application prior to the refund date and enrolls at the University, the dormitory contract is binding and the student will be expected to reside in the dormitory according to the terms of the contract. 11
