ADMISSION LETTER If you are currently enrolled in high school or college, the admission letter you received with this handbook will read as follows: We are pleased to inform you that you have been tentatively admitted to the State University of Iowa. Your admission to the University cannot be made final until you have successfully completed your current program of studies. Once you complete the final semester or quarter of schooling prior to enrolling in the University, it is your responsibility to request that an official transcript of your work be sent to the Director of Admissions., State University of Iowa. You must assume this responsibility and make certain that this official transcript is sent to us as soon as possible after you complete your current enrollment. If you remain eligible for admission, based on an evaluation of your final transcript, we will mail you a final admission card after your transcript is received and evaluated. If you are not currently enrolled in high school or college, your admission to the University is final and your admission letter will read: We are pleased to inform you that you are eligible for admission to the State University of Iowa. Your Admission Statement and permanent University Identification Card will be mailed to you about September 1 . ADVANCE PAYMENT The following requirements apply to all students new to the University, admitted to the colleges of Business Administration, Engineering, Liberal Arts, Nursing and Pharmacy and the Dental Hygiene program. 1. An advance payment of $50.00 must be submitted to the Director of Admissions within two weeks after notification of admission to the University, 2. Requests for dormitory accommodations will not be processed by the Dormitory Assignment Office until after the student has been admitted to the University and the required advance payment of $50.00 has been received by the Director of Admissions. Refer to Page 25, if dormitory accommodations are desired. 3. The advance payment of $50.00 is required within two weeks of date of admission even though the student may receive a scholarship, grant, or award. In the event the amount of the scholarship, grant, or award equals the amount of full fees or tuition and the student does not reside in a University dormitory or fraternity, the advance payment of $50.00 will be held as credit in the student's University account or, upon request to the University Cashier, after October 15 will be refunded. Otherwise, if the student's scholarship, grant or award amounts to less than the full fees or tuition and/or the student is to reside in a University dormitory, married housing, or fraternity, the advance payment of $50.00 will be credited to the student's University account. 12
