UNIVERSITY SERVICES Office of Admissions and Registrar Donald E. Rhoades, Director of Admissions and Registrar, Room 1, UH, Tel. X 2181 The Admissions Office is the first contact with the prospective student. Evaluation of high school and college credits and determination of admission status and general degree requirements are major responsibilities of this office. Additional duties include registration of students, fee assessments, residence classification, certification, and enforcement of rules governing class offerings and student enrollments. Official academic records of all students are maintained from date of initial application through registration and graduation. Preparation of graduation analyses for students, direction of Commencements and Convocations, assignment and reservation of University instructional and office space, processing requests for military and veteran affairs, and the publication of University materials are additional functions of this office. X 2191 The Office of Student Affairs strives to integrate as many services as possible within one office to provide maximum assistance to students with regard to housing , student aid and employment, personal problems, extracurricular activities, and organizations, including fraternities and sororities. Seeing that students get the special help they need, either through the office staff or from other agencies to which they may be referred, is the principal function of the office. The Off-Campus Housing Service is located in the Office of Student Affairs and helps undergraduate students find living accommodations in private homes. Listings of inspected and approved rooms are provided. On a special bulletin board located on the ground floor of University Hall are posted facilities available for undergraduate students over twenty-one years of age, graduate students, and married students. Office of Student Financial Aids Charles M. Mason, Director of Student Financial Aids, Room 111, UH, Tel. X 2191 All information on undergraduate loans and scholarships is provided by the Office of Student Financial Aids. The many students desiring part-time employment receive assistance from the Employment Manager in this office. Dormitory Assignment Office Robert R.
