Committee members are placed on committees such as: post-ball game parties, movies and television, publicity, games, bridge, special events, and fine arts. Central Party Committee The Central Party Committee administers all-University dances and popular concerts, The number of these functions varies each year, but there are usually four dances and four concerts annually. The Committee may also arrange for special parties in addition to those on the regular schedule, help committees for other dances, and advise the Committee on Student Life about student needs and desires concerning University parties. The Committee of eleven members is chosen by a Selection Committee, and interested students make application to serve on the Central Party Committee. Student Government in Residence Halls Each residence hall or house has an elected council responsible for student government activities and programs for its students. These councils consist of elected representatives from each unit making up the total residence. In addition, there is an Inter-Dormitory Presidents' Council composed of presidents from each of the men's and women's residence halls. This Council coordinates the programs of the residence halls and plans interdormitory activities, There is also an Inter-Dormitory Social Board, composed of the social chairmen from each residence hall, which coordinates social activities. Interfraternity Council The Interfraternity Council is the governing body for the nineteen national social fraternities on the campus. Each fraternity has a delegate on the Council, and from this group the Council elects its own executive board The Interfraternity Council, with the Fraternity Adviser in the Office of Student Affairs, plans programs and sets policies for all the men's social fraternities on campus. The Women's Panhellenic Association All members of the fourteen national social sororities on campus belong to the Women's Panhellenic Association and the group is governed by the Panhellenic Council. Each sorority chapter selects two delegates to serve on the Council. From the twenty eight delegates, four officers are elected who make up the Executive Council. In addition, there are chairmen of nine standing committees who carry on the various activities of the Association, The AWS Central Judiciary Board All undergraduate women students belong to the Associated Women Students organization, and within this group is the Central Judiciary Board. The Board has representatives from all areas of women's residences - dormitories, sorority houses, and town houses - and it formulates and administers judiciary policies and directs the work of the Judiciary Chairmen in each women's residence. 59
