Morris, Jr. Mrs. Edward Glazer Mrs. David Kruidenier, Jr. Of Des Moines, Iowa ABOUT THE SPEAKERS HERBERT V. PROCHNOW was employed by The First National Bank, Chicago, in 1929. He became President in 1962. A native of La Crosse, Wisconsin, he received his M.A. and B.A. degrees at the University of Wisconsin, and his Ph. D. degree in Finance at Northwestern University. He has received a number of honorary degrees as Doctor of Laws and Doctor of Letters. He served the State Department in several capacities from 1955 to 1957---as Deputy Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, Charman of the U.S. Delgation, General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade and a member of other international organizations on matters of trade and finance. Dr. Prochnow is also Secretary of the Federal Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve System. In 1964 he was President of the Chicago Association of Commerce and Industry. He has written many articles on subjects ranging from finance to religious meditation and tips for toastmasters. SENATOR RUSSELL B. LONG of Louisiana is Majority Whip in the United States Senate. A graduate of Louisiana State University, with an LL.B. degree in 1942. Senator Long is the third member of his immediate family to serve in the United States Senate. His father and mother were both United States Senators. He was first elected to the Senate in 1948 and has served continuously since that time. He is second-ranking Democrat on the Select Committee on Small Business, and Chairman of that Committee's Subcommittee on Antitrust and Monopoly; a member of the Foreign Relations Committee; a member of the Joint Committee on Internal Revenue Taxation and member of the Joint Committee on Reduction of Non-Essential Federal Expenditures.
