Prize Contest Here*s your chance to win an original illustration—by just writing a letter. For the three best letters telling in your opinion, what we could do to improve the COLLECTOR, we will award three illustrations by our artist, "Morris" Dollens. Of course, we cannot do the impossible—such as having the COLLECTOR printed, or adding a hundred pages, etc. However, the purpose of this contest is not to give away prizes, but to get some real criticisms and ideas for bettering our magazine. Any length of letter will do, a postcard or a multiple-page letter; It's the value and usability of the idea that counts. Please have your entries in by April 15th If possible, as none can be counted if they arrive later then April 20th. First prize will be a 7" x 8" painting in colors, second and third prizes will be 7" x 8" pen-and-ink drawings. We'll be anxiously awaiting your letters. The winners will be announced in our next issue. The prizes will be mailed at the same time that our 13th Issue. What's new in science fiction magazines "Fantastique" After quite a wait, the first issue of Bill Miller's hektographed magazine is out. Contents include a short story, Rocketeer's column taken over from "S-F News", fan magazine review, and illustrations by Miller and Frome. Sixteen pages, 5 1/2" x 8", 5c. Address—69 Halsted Street, East Orange, New Jersey. Just a word about Sam Moskowitz' new mag, "Helios"--it sounds good; it will be, we hear, full of new ideas and short, sure-fire articles by prominent fans.... And the Phantasy Legion's publication--"Phantasy World"--won't be bad either--a number of well-known scientifictionists' works will make the first hektographed issue one of the best S-F fan mag issues ever published.... We did have a lot more material in this department this time, but space does not permit, so you'll get the rest next issue. [Drawn ad for Phantasy World mag.] Large size 8 1/2" x 11" Star-struck!
