FANTASY FICTION LEAGUE By Morris S. Dollens Because of a large number of other activities, it will be impossible for me to continue in my position as Executive Director of the Fantasy Fiction League. All of the subscriptions are turned over to the Collector (there are only a very few, anyway). I regret that I cannot undertake the running of the FFL, but I may even have to discontinue the Collector. However, I do want to pass the LEAGUE on to some one who really wants to run it---some one who could publish a hektographed club magazine. So I make this announcement: Anyone who wants to take over the leadership of the FFL, please write me. If I receive more than one answer, I'll chose whomever I deem most capable. With the club will go a list of members, all the back copies of FFDIGEST that I have left, complete instructions on how to hektograph (a complete hektographing outfit with four or five colors of inks costs only a couple dollars), and my offer to do hekto-ink illustrations for FFD whenever needed. I had expected to go far with the LEAGUE, but circumstances do not permit. I hope who ever gets the club will do his best to make it what I expected to, and I assure him that I will do all in my power to help him. It may seem peculiar that I am resigning my position in the FFL and at the same time accepting the position of Secretary of the Phantasy Legion. The reason is that the latter will take quite a bit less of my time. READERS' SAY Daniel McPhail: "Your magazine is steadily improving, in make-up and the appearance of the hekto impressions. Only thing I can think of off hand in the way of improvement is greater variety in the material." (Does this issue have enough of a variety to suit you? Now we are able to bring you a much more interesting magazine. -- Editor.) David A. Kyle: "The 10th Collector's hektographing was a swell job! The material on the whole was good, the cover was very effective, and the ads were exceptionally fine; BUT...You should cut out the stf index." (Personally, we feel that these stf indexes we are printing are helpful, but we'll wait until we are through with the letter contest before we decide what to do with them. --Editor.) Claire P. Beck: "Your illustrating is the magazine's major attraction. I would like to suggest that you do not print fiction or "cartoons"...because much space has been wasted in fan magazines that way." (Here's another question for our prize-contest to clear up. --Editor.)
