Only once did I feel I was not "with it" and only twice that I didn't know "what was what" in life, Only once that "white was right" and not once, not once that MY Spanish was a "handicap" If things keep up I will be gone into an insignificant I% of those Mexican Americans who "Made it" and metamorphosize (read sell) myself into a Brown hamburger eating Anglo who has now forgotten that tortillas con carne was SOUL. and EL Barrio was home. Ahora I'll clean my brown ass with S & H green stamps and feel EQUAL with eveyrone as I've left my mind behind. a. zavala BASTA! 6
