"LABERINTO" Definition of our Paper Labyrinth, for those who don't know what it is, represents a maze or sort of mixed up angles from which their seems no end or beginning. The name was chosen to represent the Chicano people, not that we are mixed up and or crazy, but that we live in a society where the people we live with formed a maze trying to keep us from getting out of confusion and frustration which we have lived with for the last 200 years. Mazes have appeared frequently in Asia and Europe, but for our purpose the meaning or outcome of a Labyrinth is the same, for the purpose over there was conceived to lure devils(Chicanos) into them so that they may not escape, therefore the maze had a certain fascination for which the anglo could and does use today, that of putting us in until we are no longer. By Albert J Olvera with help of Professor Richard Skinner-Spanish Department SPORTS SECTION Washington Killer Washington quarterback Sonny Sixkiller is a Cherokee but his passing arm, not his heritage, has made him a hero to the Husky fans of the Pacific-Eight Conference. Alex L. Sixkiller is a junior Quarterback at the University of Washington. He is the latest rage from last season where as a sophmore he matched or even surpassed the brilliance of Heisman Trophy winner Jim Plunkett, in Washing's 29-22 loss to Stanford. Some people have said that the reason he was given the quarterback job was for publicity reasons. If this is true I wish the University of Iowa would come up with something like that and win for a change, Hmmm now that I think about about it,are there any Indian or Chicano players on that team [[upside down question mark]]? Sixkiller was an all-state quarterback at Ashland, but was only 5'10" and 155 Lbs he wasn't sought after that much by many college teams. Where was Iowa? Oh yeah they got some other guy, instead of 0-6 they might be 4-2. In the season opener, Sixkiller piled up 16 of 35 passes for 277 yds. and three touchdowns as the Husders upset Michigan State 42-16. It was his first varsity game and AP named im national back of the week, not bad for a beginner. He went on to do nore than our brother Jim P. in his sophmore year, completed 186 of 362 passes for 15 touchdowns and 2,303 yards. His average of 18.6 completions per game made him the
