2 [3 emblems] CHICANO AND INDIAN STUDENTS The year 1974-1975 will be the most active for the Chicano and Indian American students. Special Support Services will hire an Assistant Director for Chicano programs. The Gallo wine boycott will continue in Iowa City and we will soon concentrate on getting scab lettuce out of the University dining services. Monthly prison visitations will be made to Ft. Madison Men's Penitentiary. The Native American conference has been planned for January 20-25. The West Liberty Pre-School will serve the needs of Chicanitos. The Teatro de Zapata will be performing throughout the Midwest. We want your support and participation in these programs. Each student can discover his or her interests in one of these programs. Your participation will benefit the communities and acquaint you with community needs and programs. We must seek solutions once we identify needs. HASTA LA VICTORIA SIEMPRE Steve Rocha, Chairman Chicano Indian American Student Union [insert] NATIVE AMERICANS Our numbers have increased a little this year, but we can't let up in our efforts to recruit more Native Americans. We must continue to inspire our youth to seek more education. One way to do this is to work to make our conference a success. one way to insure its success is to participate, starting [[underline]]now[[end underline]]. You don't need an invitation, but if you do need information, call the CIACC at (319) 353-4753 or 353-6014. Or you can call me at (319) 337-4501. E.S.
