"Since 1492 the Indian Warrior has been in constant combat with the white man for the survival of his race, from King Phillip's War to Sand Creek to McAlester State Prison in Oklahoma to the second battle of Wounded Knee, 1973. "Yet while the Indian Warrior directs his attack at the U.S. government, the BIA, and the U.S. military forces, the white man directs his attack at Indian women and children on reservations, in boarding schools, in PHS hospitals and in bars across Indian Country. "And when the Indian Warrior confronts the enemy of his women and children, he is called a criminal, jailed and put on trial. "In 1492 there were eight million Indians in Indian Country. Today there are only a million. Where are the grandchildren of those seven million? Where are the murderers of Buddy Lamont, Raymond Yellow Thunder. Chief Crazy Horse and the women at Sand Creek? I say let the truth be known! Who is the criminal? Who should be on trial? -STAN HOLDER [photo] [photo] "The three men on trial are among the leaders of the American Indian Movement. Carter Camp and myself were the last out of Wounded Knee. "At the first American Indian Movement convention we organized with the sacred pipe. My power as a medicine man was handed down from my forefathers to me. The Indian power was given to me to organize Indian people in the spiritual way of life. "We know all medicine on this earth is very sacred to us. We walk on our very sacred Grandmother Earth. "The American Indian Movement way of life is not only organization but Indian education." -LEONARD CROWDOG [emblem] 4
