-4- 2. You called this the new world, yet our American continent is as old as the Earth. 3. You boast that you conquered America; we call it barbaric invasion. 4. You say we are Indians; we acknowledge that such a title is the birth right of the CITIZENS of India. 5. You label us a mixed race; we know that our race is original and pure. 6. You pride yourself as being the mother country; no nation can claim to have given us life. Our nation was created by the energy and power of her children. THE PEOPLE Our race is Anahuacatl or Anahuacana, since it populated and developed the territory known as Anahuac. It is part of the race Ixachilana known today as American because it populated said territory. THE FAMILY This entity and not the individual was the primary and basic unity of the entire social organization of Anahuac, fulfilling the principle that the community is the natural state of man, contrary to the Western principle of individualism. The family is the model for the state organization. THE PHILOSOPHY Anahuacatl philosophy reached a great height. It proclaimed that man has the right to be respected in his dual nature, moral and physical, and to enjoy the endowments of nature; but since he cannot live in isolation, but rather in a society of men, then his natural state is communal; from which condition it results that his individual rights are restricted in favor of the rights of the community, whose interests prevail over the interests and rights of the individual. The community is then the foundation of society.
