This mask of life and death was made by the Aztec artists. It depicts two aspects that were important to the Aztec. The religion and culture made them see a very short transition between life and death. It was the Atecs that believed in the honor of the human sacrifice, they considered it necessary for the appeasement of their gods. This drawing represents the skeleton of a follower of the revolutionary Emiliano Zapata. Most people consider that it represents the danger and hardship that came leading the life of a revolutionary. Zapata had may followers that tried to change the injustices that came to their government. The skeleton could imply that they died as they lived, by the gun or the sword.
