Cesar Chavez stands for the farmworker and the importance of unity among people with common needs and goals. 

Background Information
This Chicano leader has organized many migrant farmworkers in California, Florida and Arizona into the UFW. Before being organized these workers made very low wages, lived in poor housing, and many children did not attend school. Their pau is now more just, their housing has improved and their children can go to school. Chavez is still very active in organizing and fighting for his people. He has the support of many people other than farmworkers, churches, politicians like the Kennedys, consumers, and other labor organizations.
