It is a silent film, but was appreciated for its conception, lavish sets, and complex photography in spite of old-time melodramatics and broken continuity caused by deletions from the original. The showing was arranged by Forrest J Ackerman, who spoke briefly on the film before it was shown and showed “stills” from the picture. ___________________________ Support the ’47 philcon—join now ____________________________
