VAMPIRE #8 (Kennedy). As usual, Joe and his contributors have a topnotch issue to offer. All the regular features, litho cover by Van Splawn, verse by Ebey and JH Caley, fiction by Wheaton, book reviews by Tigrina and Elsner, articles by Kreuger and Wetzel on the centaur and legendary books, and a parody by Alpaugh. Joe’s headings and other drawings are a pleasure seldom found in amateur publications in our field. ANNOUNCING THE 1946-47 FANTASY REVIEW (Kennedy). Description and explanation of the yearly POLL. FANTASY REVIEW POLL—1947. (Kennedy). Ballot for 1946’s best. ___________________________ support the '47 philcon--join now ___________________________ MOVIES (continued) the action of the picture. Two other surrealistic films, “Lot in Sodom” and “Blood of a Poet” have recently interested a few of the LA fans with their bizarre concepts, trick photography, and dreaminess which compensate for lack of continuity. On 11 Dec the Ballard Society presented a Swiss film entitled “The Eternal Mask.” The picture concerns a schizophrenic; many fantastic scenes are used to show the mental wanderings of the afflicted man through the maze is of his own mind. Though not strictly fantasy, the picture would probably interest most fantasy followers because of its unusual depictions of the disordered mental state involved in story.
