SUN SPOTS Page 6. ______________________________ ******************************************* NEWS OF THE "S O L A R O I D S" ***************************************** Westwood, N.J., May 24, 1940.-The SOLAROID CLUB of Westwood since its reorganization has been holding meetings every Friday. The attendance at last weeks meeting was seven. Roderick Gaetz, who was chairman at this meeting, called for order at 3:30 P.M. The minutes were read by Secretary de la Ree, and accepted. Treasurer’s report was around $2.50. The club decided to dispense with the party due to be held on the first of June and the money which had been in this fund was divided between the regular treasury and SUN SPOTS allotment. The dues were raised, by a unanimous vote to 15¢ per month. This was to meet the rising strain on the treasury, due to the purchase of more Stf mags. A rating was given by the members present on the last issue of Thrilling Wonder Stories. It was done on a one-to-ten basis, with ten as the highest possible score. The results are as follows: COVER ---------------------------5 DR. CYCLOPS------------------6 THE SUN MAKER--------------9 RED MOON----------------------6 ISLE OF CHANGING LIFE---6 LUNAR PIT-----------------------2 PARALLEL IN TIME------------8 KNIGHT MUST FALL----------9 DEPARTMENTS----------------7 INTERIOR DRAWINGS-------6 ½ MAGAZINE AS WHOLE------7 After this, new fan mags. were circulated between the members and at 4:30 the meeting was adjourned. ***************** The next meeting which will be held today,(May 24,) promises to have a larger attendance than the last one. We hope to rate a magazine at each meeting and all ratings will be published in future issues of SUN SPOTS. WE WANT NEW MEMBERS.
