For each of these reviews your subscription will be extended or you will get a new subscription at the rate of one cent per column-inch of your article. ------------------------------------------------------------------- SCIENCE FICTION BROADCAST BY STFAN! Abe Oshinsky, popular member of the Queens Science Fiction League, spoke a few words over the radio concerning his hobby of science fiction. The broadcast was at the invitation of the World's Fair Reporter. Further efforts are being made by Mr. Oshinsky to present a longer talk on some other program. ------------------------------------------------------------------- YOUR FRIENDS WOULD LIKE FANTASY NEWS ------------------------------------------------------------------- STRANGER CLUB ELECTS! ________________________ ART WIDNER, JR. RE-ELECTED DIRECTOR Meeting at the MIT Grad House in Cambridge, in Earl Singleton's apartments, on Sunday afternoon, October 13th, The Stranger Club unanimously re-elected Art Widner, Jr as Director, and Earl Singleton as Treasurer. Fred Weiner was unanimously elected Secretary. Members present were Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Swisher, Frances Nevada Swisher II, (youngest fan club member in the world!) John W. Bell, a new member, Alfred F. Lopez, Ralph Smith, Fred Weiner, Earl Singleton and Art Widner Jr. The meeting did not get under way late as usual, on account of his regular thirty-mile journey, and while waiting, everybody was immersed in the No. 4 issue of Fanfare, the club organ, which was fresh from one of Mass. Tech's direct-process hektos that morning. After the elections were held, a discussion went on about making it convenient for out-of-state fans to attend. It was decided that the club should hold bi-weekly meetings during the winter, which would offer more dates for out-of-state fans to choose from in making their visits. Accordingly, the next meeting was fixed for Oct 27, at the Graduate House fo the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge.
