LOOKING AHEAD A Magazine Of Ideas And Opinions Vol 2 No 2 Whole No 6 Apr. 21, 1940 EXTRA! EXTRA! EXTRA! EXTRA! EXTRA! The next issue of “Looking Ahead” will begin a detailed account of the events that occurred at the last (World’s Fair) Convention. This is the first time a highly detailed report has been written on any science fiction convention. The significance of such a report coming out as it is just a few months before the next convention, should not be underestimated. For once fans can study the faults and mistakes of a previous convention with a view to prevent the occurrence of these errors at the next convention. For once A Convention Committee can revue the events that attracted many people to a previous convention. [To left is a hand-drawn man ringing a bell with a sign which says: THE 5th (World’s Fair) ConventioN – Report Staring Next Issue] This series of articles on the “World’s Fair Convention” were written up in July, not more than two weeks after the Convention, from very extensive and elaborate notes. Michel in the subway and exclaimed, “Johnny, YOU are about to be interviewed.” “I won’t talk,” he said, drawing back in mock fright, smiling as he did this. “It is for ‘Looking Ahead,’” we returned. Michel] Michel recovered his composure and put on a very professional air. “Well, go ahead,” he said in a “let us see how quick we can get through with this” manner. “What do you want to know?” he asked. “It is my opinion,” said Johnny, “that the idea of the Chicago Convention is a decidedly progress- (Concluded on page 2, col. 1)
