Science Fiction Collector --- Page Seventeen Further, it might be asked why the particular individuals were excluded as were? Why Kornbluth and Gillespie, and not Kyle, Rubinson, Wilson? Why Lowndes, and why not Dockweiler? Again Moskowitz charges (page 16) that there was an attempt to break in, one party by stairs and another by elevator. This is an utter fabrication. No such thing occured. I must digress to utter with awe Moskowitz's comment that those present at the Convention experienced "u̲n̲e̲n̲d̲u̲r̲a̲b̲l̲e̲ ̲p̲l̲e̲a̲s̲u̲r̲e̲ ̲i̲n̲d̲e̲f̲i̲n̲i̲t̲e̲l̲y̲ ̲p̲r̲o̲l̲o̲n̲g̲e̲d̲." Oh my, is t̲h̲a̲t̲ what the Ladies' Auxiliary was there for? Whoops, Moskie! The telegram mentioned was sent the s̲e̲c̲o̲n̲d̲ day of the Convention. It inferred nothing concerning dissention. The second day, it would be a bit too late for dissention. The exact wording is "Please Announce Futurian Meeting Tomorrow. Regards to the Tyrannous Trio. -- The Exiles." Read Sam's account of this on page 17 to see how things are distorted. It is interesting to wonder who forged Kyle's name to the messenger boy's receipt and then withheld the message. It almost narrows down, in the turn of events, that the Convention was confronted with, not a group of fans, but with a bunch of hoodlums who were having the time of their lives making things uncomfortable for an serious, hard-working section of fandom. The impossibility of the situation, the clear truth as presented here, should surely convince all fair-minded fans that New Fandom's self-appointed leaders were really nothing more than a group of affirmed fabricators and habitual troublemakers. If not, if all
