T̲h̲e̲ ̲E̲n̲d̲ ̲ ̲B̲O̲O̲K̲ ̲N̲O̲T̲E̲ THE INVISIBLE POLICE by Louis Pendleton Here is a book that we'll warrant many fans haven't run across in their quest for serious volumes pertaining to science fiction and fantasy. The title certainly sounds fantastic enough, doesn't it? Imagine our surprize, when after a cursory examination it did turn out to be fantasy. Odd, what? On the paper jacket is printed, "This story begins with the destruction of an Atlantic line....and follows the fortunes of the saved, but of the 'lost'?....in the land of the immortals --- a land which...closely resembles...earth... In this great spiritual threshing-floor...there are guards along the ways....They maintain order, quell disturbances of the peace and instruct the newcomers....one of the characters...refer to them as the "invisible police." Publishers are the New Church Press, N.Y.
