BEOWULF . . This J. Edward Davis writes some interesting things; but I would that Beowulf had contained more de la Ree (or is it a nomme de typer?) Agree whole-heartedly with your remarks on Amendments. FANTASY AMATEUR . . That doesn't look to me like a cross-bow arrow, Why didn't the President and Official Editor print their resignation in this issue? Why didn't the President print his appointment of Wilson as new OE? Why didn't they come right out and tell the whole membership the full, plain truth about the entire mess? Or hadn't they yet been able to think up a good enough story at date of publication of FA? Most important, why didn't the President do FAPA a real favor and resign his membership as well as his office? AGENBITE OF INWIT . . THe Apostate's article very, very interesting but, oh! so teddibly, teddibly sophisticated. What's got into the se New York boys, anyway? Don't they realize they are just common jerks like the rest of us?...Since I'm now Official Undertaker of Green [Gun?] I'm seriously tempted to perform a few burials. But, have I got a choice list of prospects! Dun't tempt me too far! DEVIL TAKE THE HINDMOST . . Another attempt to keep going another of these senseless feuds. And Doc Lowndes pokes at ME for not growing up, just because I am trying to make a United Fandom that will help Fans to get what they want when they want it! BEYOND . . So Is Man was a delightful play. We should have more of these, that can be actually produced at conventions or such-like gatherings if and when desired...The Fantasy Art Parade was a good job by one of Fandom's top artists. Personally, tho, I think you dismissed Wiedenbeck far too lightly. Jack does a lot of magnificent work that is 'way ahead of his air-brush covers...This artist Rew you eulogize so highly -- I just notice that Wright's own initals are REW! Hmmmm. OUTLANDI . . The best poetry yet to appear in FAPA!!! (Business of now removing tongue from cheek.) Forrie is clever, you must admit. TOWARD TOMORROW . . Such a splendid publication that immediately I had finished reading it I sat down and wrote Kepner of my delight in it. His scholarly articles are an inspiration; his format unequalled in this mailing. Nominated for the best fanzine of the year. THE TIME-BINDER and A TALE OF THE 'EVANS . . As I said, I'll probably try to continue both -- A TALE for reviews and odds and ends; THE TIME BINDER for more serious things. Hope you like them both. MAILING AS A WHOLE . . Continues to be the greatest $1.00's worth of reading anyone can buy. I'm proud, and humble, to be a member of an organization that can produce such continuously splendid work. ___________________ This perpetration done on the Slan Shack mimeo, with the able assistance of whomever I can rope into assisting me when the time comes. [it?] is an A S P (and what I thought those initials meant the first time I saw them, is probably true now!) The beautiful design on the cover is of course, the work of Jack Wiedenbeck, Fandom's premier artist, altho I'll take a bow for at last suggesting the general idea. Dood-bye, now -- see you this Summer . . . Oh, yes, the publisher is Th' Ol' [Fool?]
