MY CREED OF RELIGIOUS BELIEFS. I was greatly inspired recently by receiving a letter from my good Canadian friend, Leslie A. Croutch. Portions of that epistle will be found in later messages. It inspired me to write down some of my own beliefs as to religious matters, hoping that it would not only help me to clarify in my own mind just which things I felt important, but also just what were my religious or Infinite concepts. I was brought up in a very strict Protestant home. For the first quarter century or so of my life I felt that I was a fairly good Christian. Then various things occurred which made me not only doubt, but come almost to forsake all ideas of church and God. Not that I became an atheist, but merely that I dropped all pretense at even trying to be a Christian. But later on, I began to see that something was lacking; it dawned on me that there were certain fundamentals which were the veritable Truth, and I began seeking again to know my God. I am still seeking; I know that there is much to learn; that there is a lot of acquired sceptism to be overcome. I am, however ,making a definite attempt to gain more knowledge and understanding. So I have cast up my account of my present beliefs, largely for my own edification and clarification. I set them down here in my little journal in no spirit of preaching or proselyting; not attempting to "convert" anyone. I sincerely believe that it is good for one to make public their beliefs; to be willing and strong enough to stand up and let folks know where one stands. I realize that some will scoff; I know there will be those whose reaction will be "the damned fool!" or worse. Yet I am willing to face those caustic criticisms, because I am sure that there will be some who will agree. I also hope there will be some who will with their wise counsel and encouragement, aid me in my research for the Truth. I BELIEVE in a Supreme Being, Mind, Will, Power or whatever He or It may be, that is Infinite in knowledge and ability; that is the source of life as we know it here on earth; that has been and is responsible for creation, growth, evolution and continuance of the Universe. I BELIEVE that it is entirely possible for a human being to know and understand far more of this Infinite Mind and Will, to the extent that such an individual may have an incalculable influence on the rest of mankind for many ages. I BELIEVE that these "Sons of God", as they have been called, are those who have been our great religious teachers
